KNDO accuses junta of hatching divisive scheme to disunite Karen people

The Karen National Defence Organization announced on 14 July denying a rumour online about an assassination plot of leaders of the Karen National Union.

The KNDO also said the baseless accusation was a divisive scheme by the military regime to disunite Karen people.

The KNDO announcement was signed by Brigadier General Saw Nerdah Mya leader of the group who was recently suspended by the Central KNU leadership after the junta accused the KNDO of killing 25 men in Waw Lay area of Myawady border town on 11 and 12 June. The incident was reported to the KNU headquarters the following day.

Brigadier General Nerdah Mya said he would not leave his position, despite the KNU’s suspension.
