The Thantlang Placement Affairs Committee (TPAC-IDP help) announced on 1 March that junta troops burnt down 101 houses in Thantlang Township, Chin State.

The statement said that this arson attack, the 26th such attack on Thantlang Township, happened on 25 and 27 February. Of the burnt-down houses, eight were in Sianginn Ward, 24 were in Zung Hmun Ward, 22 were in Market Ward, 42 were in Biakinn Ward and five were in TABC Ward.

“As military junta’s troops were not able to beat the Chinland Defence Forces (CDFs), they set fire to houses to upset and frighten people. We will not retreat even one centimeter,” said an official from the TPAC-IDP help.

The only people in Thantlang township are military junta troops and CDF members, so fighting often breaks out between them.

There were around 1,800 houses in Thantlang Township. More than 1,040 have been gutted by fire. The TPAC-IDP announced that 22 houses were also burnt down when junta troops set fire to houses in Thantlang Township on 13 February.
