Junta troops burn down 35 homes in Sagaing’s Tapin Kaung Village

Junta troops burned down about 35 houses in Tapin Kaung (South) Village, five kilometers west of Khin-U Township, in Sagaing Region on 29 April at 8:00 p.m., according to a local resident.

“They [junta troops] weren’t stationed in our village, they were stationed in Mani Gone Village, which is next to our village. They came on purpose to set fire to our village. Around 35 houses were burned down”, said a resident of Tapin Kaung Village.

Since 28 April over 5,000 residents from the Khin-U Township villages of Mani kone, Kyar Ywar, Paung Hle kone, Tapin Kaung, In Pin Hla, and Nayng Bin Thar have reportedly fled the combat.
