Junta forces arrest two CDM policemen in Magway

Two policemen in Magway Region who joined the Civil Disobedience Movement against the country’s post-coup military regime since March were arrested at their hideout near Gangaw-Kalay motorway on 26 June, according to a local source.

The two low-ranking police members were identified as Zaw Moe Naing from Pauk Police Station of Pakhoku district and Naing Naing Toe (a) Yan Naing Toe from Minywa Police Station.

“They were arrested on the way back to their native village, and then taken while they were beaten,” a local witness said.

The mother of second policeman said she had lost contacts with her son for months, and expressed deep grief for the arrest of her son.
