Freed US journalist remembers horrors of Myanmar junta jail

Journalist and US citizen Nathan Maung was jailed in March for reporting on Myanmar's bloody coup. "They beat me, they kicked my cheek, they hit my ear drum," he tells AFP about his detention. Now home in Virgina after his release in June, he can't forget those left behind, including a colleague still at the mercy of their jailers. "I feel guilty to be in the United States," he says. "I never enjoy my freedom. So my body is here, my mind is always with my friend."
