Fire breaks out at USDP Hakha office

The headquarters of the military-aligned Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) in Chin-U-Se Ward in Hakha Township, Chin State caught fire at midnight on the morning of 2 October.

A Hakha resident said: “The fire broke out at midnight. It is not known whether it was arson or not. A lot of it burned down. The police and soldiers are now guarding the office.”

There is no further information about the incident, but locals claim that the junta has stepped up security in Hakha Town.

Previously, in October 2021, the State Immigration Office in Hakha Township's Chin U-See Ward was burned down.
