Ethnic alliances occupy eight Myanmar military outposts on third day of attack

Ethnic allied groups in northern Shan State seized a total of more than eight outposts of the Myanmar junta on their third day of offensive attacks under “Operation 1027” on 29 October.

Reports have come in that dozens of junta posts have been captured over the last three days since the operation started.

The “Three Brotherhood Allies” formed with MNDAA, AA and TNLA could seize the outposts after the attacks from 4 to 10 am, according to the news release of Operation 1027—3BHA that aims to root out the military dictatorship and to eradicate cyber scams.

The clashes occurred in Nawnghaio, Hsenwi, Lashio, Chin Shwe Haw and Namyam, and huge cache of arms and ammunition were seized from the police and military outposts in these areas. Some junta troops were also arrested, and there are also many causalities of regime soldiers.

Clashes are still escalating in Kyaukme district, Laukkai district, Lashio district and Kunlong district.

There were also civilian causalities, and Mizzima is investigating the number of displaced persons.
