Ethnic Affairs Minister-elect Htu May assures voters of implementing electoral vows within five years

Newly elected Yangon Region government Ethnic Affairs Minister Htu May said that she would implement her promises given during her campaign within her five-year term.

Minister-elect Htu May said that she had the long term and short term plans for these electoral promises to be implemented by meeting with people and civil society organizations and her first work would be building the ethnic Rakhine community centre in Yangon.

“I shall form a legal organization first and then I shall establish a Rakhine community centre. For doing this work, I shall meet with CSOs for informal talks with them. I shall start this work soon. I shall take suggestions from the township organizers within one week. I shall implement my electoral promises with short term and long term plans. In the short term plan, I shall work first for integration with the people. We shall take decisions on who can do what work in our meetings with people. And then we shall carry out these plans,” Minister-elect Htu May said.

In her election campaigns in Yangon Region, this independent candidate Htu May gave her electoral promise to the voters for working for more job opportunities and rights of all ethnic Rakhine races and tribes living in Yangon Region.
