Eleven villagers in Salingyi township allegedly restrained and burnt to death

Locals told Mizzima that 11 villagers from Done Taw village in Salingyi township, Sagaing region were restrained and set on fire by the Tatmadaw on December 7.

A Done taw villager said that the military council troops in three vehicles opened fire on Done taw village at around 8 am on December 7. They also opened fire on the group of houses in the north of the village and burned the people living in these houses at a place in the forest.

The nearly one-and-a-half-minute unverified video clip, which has been circulating on social media, shows images of a group of people burning.

Local villagers have confirmed that people in the video are Done Taw villagers and the video is said to have been shot by a villager when the military council left.
