Electric Power Corporation (EPC) office bombed in Mandalay's Maha Aungmye Township

Two junta soldiers died when the Electric Power Corporation (EPC) office was bombed in Mandalay's Maha Aungmye Township on the afternoon of 27 April.

“The branch of EPC office behind Myadaung Monastery was bombed. Military soldiers guard the branch. The attack must have been targeting them because it wasn’t the time to pay electricity bills. Two soldiers died, I saw them in an ambulance”, said a local.

The bomb was detonated by Generation Z Power GZP (Mandalay), an urban people defense guerrilla force who said they had been targeting the military personnel stationed in front of the EPC office, which is on 35th street, between 85th and 86th streets in Maha Aungmye Township.

A spokesperson from the group said that the two junta soldiers were killed in the attack. There have been at least 10 bomb attacks on EPC offices in the Mandalay region since the coup.
