DMO-PDF fighter killed in battle near Karenni State’s Ngwe Taung Dam

DMO-PDF announced that Comrade Alphaungshoe, a hero of the People's Defense Forces (DMO-PDF), was killed in a battle near the Ngwe Taung Dam in Demoso township, Karenni State on January 13.

The fighter was killed when he was shot by a Myanmar junta sniper while rescuing his wounded troops in a battle near the Ngwe Taung Dam, according to the report.

He was 21 years old and died at 3:00 pm.

A DMO-PDF fighter told Mizzima that Comrade Alphaungshoe was killed by a sniper while rescuing his comrades who had been injured by landmines. He said junta soldiers were injured in the fighting, though the casualty figure was unclear.

The fighting took place in Shwe Yauk Ward, near Ngwe Taung Dam in Demoso township because the People's Defense Forces (DMO-PDF) attacked the junta forces waiting in ambush at 2.30 pm on January 13. Local residents said there is no fighting on the following day, January 14.
