The Dawei Defense Team (DDT) announced that they shot dead a female Pyu Saw Htee militia member on 28 April in Launglon’s Pandale village in Dawei District of Tanintharyi Region.

According to the announcement, a woman named Daw Than Than Tint who was a member of Pyu Saw Htee militia had allegedly been collecting extortion money from vendors at the village market to support the Myanmar military junta.

Mizzima has not yet been able to confirm the allegations.

The shooting was carried out by the Dawei Defense Team (DDT) and had nothing to do with the villagers, the team said.

The village administrators, Pyu Saw Htee members and military informants are shot dead frequently in Launglon Township.
