Commander-in-Chief is the guardian of the nation, says USDP

Spokeswoman of the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP), Yin Min Myint Swe, said that 34 political parties had met the Tatmadaw (Defence Services) Commander-in-Chief Senior Gen. Min Aung Hlaing and saw him as the guardian of the nation.

Chairmen, Vice-Chairmen and Secretaries of 34 political parties met Tatmadaw C-in-C Senior Gen. Min Aung Hlaing on August 14 at Bayint Naung Guesthouse in Naypyitaw. Tatmadaw True News Information Team issued a press statement saying the political parties asked the Tatmadaw for help in holding free and fair elections.

USDP party spokeswoman Yin Min Myint Swe said that the nation had to seek the leading political role of Tatmadaw whenever the nation faced danger and in case of emergency as the Tatmadaw was always a neutral and unbiased institution.

34 political parties including USDP, People’s Progressive Party (PPP), Wa National Party, National Unity Party (NUP), National Development Party, Pa-O National Organization (PNO), National Democratic Forces Party (NDF), and 88-Generation Democratic Party attended the meeting.
