China's Leshan Buddha statue river banks exposed due to extreme heat

The river banks of the Leshan Budda state in China's Sichuan province are exposed, as the region faces record low water levels amid enduring high temperature and low rainfall. Sections of riverways near the UNESCO listed World Heritage site are seen dried up as China is hit by extreme weather this summer, including record temperatures, flash floods and droughts -- which scientists warn are becoming more frequent due to climate change.
