The CDF-Kanpetlet said that arson against religious buildings and homes in Kanpetlet, Chin State, was not the act of the CDF but the evil deed of members of the military council.

The group said that members of the military council posted in some places that Kanpetlet could be subject to the town being fired on by artillery and light arms fire at night.

Since clashes between the CDF and the military council have occurred, many residents fled and some homes were vandalized during the evacuation, according to local people.
