Bomb explodes near Mandalay Yadanarbon Hall

A woman was seriously injured in a bomb blast on 38th Street near the Yadanarbon Hall, owned by the junta in Mandalay on 25 December.

“A bomb exploded near Aung Pyae Sone Hall (Yadanarbon Hall) on 38th street that we call Daw Aung San Suu Kyi road. A woman was injured and I saw that she was taken by ambulance. That place was close to the military area,” a local resident near the scene said.

Just who planted the explosive is unclear. One explanation being shared on military junta social media is that a woman came to detonate a bomb but it exploded prematurely and she was seriously injured.

As of going to press, no confirmation has been provided as to who might have planted the bomb.
