Attack on checkpoint in Mandalay’s Singu Township kills lieutenant and soldier

The Singu People's Defense Forces reportedly attacked the military regime’s Pin Le Gyi checkpoint in Singu Township, Mandalay Region at 5 am on 14 February killing two soldiers, one of whom was a lieutenant, and injuring several others.

The spokesman said that the attack was called the Moe Gyo (Thunder) Operation in honor of their late comrade, Moe Gyo, a fallen hero of the Singu People's Defense Force. The PDF fighters were able to withdraw from the area without any casualties.

The checkpoint has about 30 junta troops stationed there and is the largest checkpoint in Singu Township.

After the attack on the checkpoint, two landmines were detonated, one at Kan Pyo Village and the other at the exit of Singu Town A spokesman for Singu PDF said that currently, they had no further information about casualties.
