The Civilian's Defense and Security Organization of Myaung (CDSOM) announced on 4 December that they will control and examine ships entering and leaving Myaung town, Sagaing Region through five ports along the Chindwin River.

They issued a statement saying that during the scrutiny, products related to the military council will be confiscated as public property and will be shared as the expenses of the civilian defense forces and residents of Myaung. Moreover, the responsible port officers of the People's Defense Force will take effective action against uncooperative vessels.

“Our guerrilla forces will control five checkpoints along the Chindwin River,” a spokesperson from CDSOM told Mizzima.

Two ships and 15 crew members, including the military-owned Shwe Vyine Phyu ship, were detained at around 1 pm on 3 December, he reported.

"There were about 15 crew members on board. It contained fuel. Shwe Vyine Phyu ship is owned by the junta military. They also said that this ship belonged to Min Aung Hlaing. Thus, we detained all," the CDSOM official said.

These five preexisting ports are being controlled and checked by the CDSOM under new names.

According to a statement, the CDSOM of Myaung say they will not tolerate racketeering and corruption, and they will only block the routes that support the junta and military products.
