Alleged female informant shot dead in Yangon’s Dawbon Township

A woman suspected of being a Military Council informant, living in Kyisu Ward, Dawbon township Yangon region was shot dead on the morning of January 6.

"Her name is Ma Cho. She was shot dead near No (2) State Middle school in Dawbon township at around 7 am. Some say she was shot with four bullets; some say she was shot with six bullets,” said a local woman.

Daw Khin San Lwin (a.k.a) Cho Mar was shot and died on the spot, according to people near the scene. Junta troops took away her body, blocked off the area and conducted checks.

A member of the Wolf Warriors STF (WWSTF) group told Mizzima that she was an alleged informant who passed information to the Military Council and the appointed ward administrator.

“She threated young people and political activists in the ward, and young people were forced to flee because she accused them of being PDF members. She was targeted after the news about her had been checked carefully,” the group member said.

PDF activities have increased in the area. An administrator of the Say Set ward in Dawbon township was shot dead on December 31, 2021. On January 4, a group bombed the Electricity Power Corporation (EPC) in the township.

The Burma Final Revolution Armed Forces (BFRAF) bombed the Dawbon Thinbaw Kyin police station at 7:07 pm last night, killing one person and wounding another.
