12 Military Council troops killed in Sagaing’s Chaung-U Township

The MGN 35 guerrilla group said that it killed 12 junta troops and members of the military aligned Pyu Saw Htee militia in Sagaing Region’s Kangyigone Village, in Chaung-U Township, on 9 March.

In a statement, the group said they carried out the attack after hearing that the junta troops and Pyu Saw Htee members who were stationed in Kangyigone Village had arrested and tortured villagers, stolen villagers’ property, arrested and killed a People’s Defence Force (PDF) fighter and ambushed PDFs.

A member of the MGN35 guerrilla force said that 60 military junta’s troops were stationed in Kangyigone village and the fighting lasted for three hours before large numbers of junta troops arrived and the PDF fighters withdrew safely.

The statement said that the groups involved in the attack were the MGN35 guerrillas, the Zero guerrillas (Myingyan), the Value of Young Men (Taungtha) and the MRA (Myaung Revolution Army).
