Myanmar’s consumer goods imports rose by 12.5 per cent to touch US$411.6 million during the first 33 days of the present fiscal year 2018-2019 compared with the same period last year, according to figures released by the Ministry of Commerce, state media reported.
Between 27 October and 2 November this year, Myanmar imported consumer goods worth over $110 million. The country also imported other goods worth $1.2 billion, including capital goods worth $546.5 million and semi-finished goods worth $685.4 million, via land and sea.
During this period, the government imported commodities worth $144 million, while private sector imports stood at nearly $1.5 billion.
