Myanmar’s billiard selection Chit Ko died on 2 July after he had been ill since the third week of June.
His body was found at the sports training camp in Aungsan Stadium in Yangon.
“His friend came to awake Chit Ko, but just found the dead body. The body will be tested for COVID-19,” his close friend confirmed to Mizzima.
The 37-year-old billiard champion was at the camp in downtown Yangon for training.
“We participated in many games together. He was a very skillful player,“ the friend said.
Chit Ko reportedly wrote about his illness on his social media page on 23 June.
The native of Mawlamyine Township, Mon State, became a Myanmar selection billiard player, and won prizes in the competitions of Asian Billiards Championships, World Billiards Championships and the SEA Games, representing Myanmar.
