Yangon PDF group attacks police station and administrator’s office

A Yangon Region People’s Defence Force launched a two-pronged attack on a police station and a local administration office yesterday.

The Yangon Federal Army (YFA) said that they attacked Thaunggyi police station in Hlaing Tharyar Township, Yangon Region with a M-79 grenade launcher at 5 a.m, on 18 March. In addition, they threw two 40mm grenades, killing and wounding military junta troops, according to the group.

The group said that the attack was carried out jointly by the Yangon Federal Army (YFA) and the CGF-YGN.

The group also reportedly threw grenades at military junta troops stationed at the Insein Township Administrator's office at 5.30 a.m. on the same day. The details of casualties are still unknown.

The attacks are said to be part of the Pyan Hlwar Aung Operation of guerrilla groups’ Yangon Region Command.
