Members of an unidentified armed group on the Bangladesh side of the border separating the country from Myanmar injured three people in a shooting on Thursday at a border guard outpost in Rakhine state, RFA reported.
The group targeted an outpost that lies some 200 meters (656 feet) from the border near a demarcation post in Maungdaw township, said Colonel Win Zaw Oo of the Western Command, which oversees operations in Rakhine state.
The Myanmar Army regards the shooters as a “terrorist group,” but cannot track them down since they are on the other side of the border, he said.
