Addressing ASEAN leaders, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned "escalating levels of violence" in Myanmar, as the regional bloc struggles to implement a peace plan it agreed upon in April last year. Guterres also warned of "a growing risk that the global economy will be divided into two parts, led by the two biggest economies — the United States and China".
