The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, Union Minister of Health-NUG, claimed that due to certain decisions of ethnic revolution forces and people’s revolution forces to uproot the military dictatorship, the struggle would come to an end soon. 
  • In Sagaing Region at 3:00 pm on 25 October, the junta armed forces raided the local offices of Pale Township Public Administration and People’s Defence Force using 5 military helicopters. After that, up to 12 dead bodies were found in the clearance operation of the area. 
  • The Committee Representing Yangon Regional Hluttaw announced that the junta army led by the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing had been conducting inhumane activities on the general public openly. 
  • At 3:00 pm Thursday, there was an online meeting between Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and Dr. Tun Aung Shwe, the NUG Representative of Australia. 
  • At the United Nations General Assembly, Myanmar’s Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun called on the ICJ and ICC to listen to the voices of Myanmar people and bring justice to the victims. 

Revolution Activities 

  • After the emergency meeting of ASEAN Foreign Ministers on Myanmar’s affairs in Jakarta of Indonesia, Cambodia, the Chair of the association stated that they had decided to proceed in accordance with the ASEAN 5-Point Consensus for Myanmar. 
  • A combination of 3 civil society organizations called on the United Nations Security Council to stop turning to the ASEAN for Myanmar’s affairs and take immediate action. 
  • According to anti-junta groups, there would be a turn-off-the-lights movement from 8:30 pm to 8:40 pm for 10 minutes on Friday to express sorrow for a large number of casualties due to the junta army’s bombing of the music concert in A Nang Pa of Hpakant Township in Kachin State for the 62nd anniversary of the KIO. 
  • In Sagaing Township of Sagaing Region, there were educational talks for the public regarding preventive measures against the junta’s air strikes. 
  • In the north of Yinmabin Township, local PDFs fired mortars at the junta armed forces and Pyusawti group in Bantbway Village on Friday. 
  • In Monywa, there was a march against the military dictatorship on Friday, chanting anti-junta slogans. 
  • At a market in Salingyi Township, a rally of Salingyi and Yinmabin led anti-junta public talks. There, local people and the market people joined the protest, showing that they stand with the people from A Nang Pa in Hpakant. 
  • Dr. Tay Zar San called on the public throughout the country to take part in a lights-off strike to show unity against the military dictatorship. 
  • In Mae Sot of Thailand, the abbot of Myawaddy Mingyi Monastery, an anti-junta monk, passed away and his body was carried away for last rites. 
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, local people protested against the military dictatorship on Friday. 
  • In Kawkarait of Kayin State, the junta army shot mortars without any battle on Thursday. Reportedly, they fell and exploded in Ward (7), leaving 2 people dead and 5 others injured. 
  • The political prisoners in Insein Jail released information about life in detention, along with the list of the names of 9 prison staff brutally attacking prisoners leading to death. 
  • In Htilin Township of Magwe Region, 100 junta soldiers and Pyusawti members set fire to the people’s houses in Tanbingone Village. On Thursday, they were attacked at close range by an alliance of Yaw Defence Force. Reportedly, no less than 30 junta members died. 
  • In Seesaing of Shan State, the military junta sued local people for the possession of 2200 acres of agricultural land near Hoke Ward, claiming that the land belong to the junta army. Reportedly, Hopone Township Court made a verdict in favour of the army, which won the case. 
  • On 15 October, 6 military ships carrying rations and weapons left Mandalay Gawwaing Port for Bamaw. According to the videos of a junta soldier from one of those ships, they fired ammunition wildly as they traveled along the river. 

Ethnic Armed Organizations 

  • According to Karen National Union-KNU, the EAO deferred their planned conference again due to ongoing heavy battles and junta air strikes in Kayin State. 

The Military Council 

  • The junta Ministry of Immigration announced that they had extended the deadline for another two weeks up to 15 November to abolish extra national registration cards and household lists. 
  • U Than Swe, Chair of the junta Anti-Corruption Commission, said that they had set up teams at ministries and state/regional government offices to combat corruption among government employees and they were gaining success. 
  • The junta Deputy Minister of Construction claimed that they were proceeding with the implementation of Yangon Amata Smart and Eco City established during the administration of the NLD government in cooperation with Thailand. 
  • The second junta leader said that some foreign countries had been disrupting the administrative mechanism of the country from various points. 
  • According to the junta Union Election Commission, they approved of the abolishment of Union Betterment Party led by former military officer Thura U Shwe Man from the registry of political parties. 
  • The junta Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that they would not follow the decisions made at the emergency meeting of ASEAN Foreign Ministers held in Jakarta. 

Summary on 28 October 

  • The military junta claimed that they would not follow the decisions of ASEAN meetings without junta personnel being invited to the events. 
  • The ASEAN just called on the military junta to implement the ASEAN 5-point consensus, which the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing himself had agreed in the early period of the coup. However, the military dictator rejected the decision. It highlights their hunger for power via the coup using the excuse to electoral fraud. 
  • Upcountry the junta armed forces have been burning villages and killing local people for no apparent reason. Consequently, the number of such victims has been on the rise.
