The Military Council

  • According to the junta media, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing met with the Myanmar-Russia Friendly Association and discussed investment matters, including direct flights between Russia and Myanmar, fuel oil and natural gas.
  • The military junta announced that 12 people, including the owner of Myaungmya Daw Cho Monhingha shop and their son, were arrested, accusing them of getting involved in robbery at KBZ Bank.
  • According to the junta newspaper, Deputy Chief Military Officer of Russian Navy was in Yangon and discussed with the junta army on matters such as maritime security and technical exchange.
  • According to the junta media, the junta regional chief minister and the junta regional military officer financially awarded the junta police who had found explosives and weapons.
  • According to the junta media, Win Htut Oo, the junta minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, attended ASEAN ministerial meeting on agriculture and forestry and the ASEAN+3 ministerial meeting on agriculture and forestry. He discussed that Myanmar would play an active role in plans for cooperation.
  • According to Thala Shwemye, the junta propaganda on social media, junta soldiers were sent by helicopters to fight against PDFs in Sagaing Region under a special military operation called ‘Alaung Mintaya’.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • In accordance with the right to self-defence, the public have been taking part in a People’s Defensive War. According to the NUG, there were attacks on 11 military targets of the enemy, 26 administration targets and 10 business targets on Wednesday.
  • In a speech sent to the ASEAN Summit, Acting President of the NUG said that they vow to join hands with ASEAN to ensure humanitarian assistance in terms of emergency need in accordance with the ASEAN 5-point consensus. At the time of such offer from the NUG, the military junta was doing as much as possible to weaken the Association.
  • According to Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment-NUG, it was the very first time in world history that a revolutionary government published and sold special bonds without interest. It would also go down in history that the Myanmar people with the desire for federal democracy protest against the military junta till the end.
  • Ministry of Defence-NUG announced that about 100 junta soldiers were simultaneously attacked at two locations in Kawlin Township of Sagaing Region at about 2:00 am Wednesday and 40 of them might have died.
  • The NUG announced that their representative office in Czech Republic was opened in Prague on Wednesday.

Revolution Activities

  • As a 263-day protest, Kalay people marched on Thursday, holding sign s- “Let’s not give money to the military junta to save Myanmar”.
  • As a 232-day protest, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday, holding anti-junta signs and chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • According to local residents, military helicopters fired in Tantsi and Gyunhla townships on Thursday morning and there were also flights of fighter jets.
  • In Shwebo Township, local people marched for the NUG and against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In Myinmu Township, a military convoy was attacked with mines again on Wednesday night and two trucks were damaged.
  • In Salingyi Township, a rally of villagers conducted a night strike against the military dictatorship on Wednesday.
  • In Monywa, a combined force of Monywa Heroes Group and PDF-South Monywa carried out bomb attacks at 3 places, including TTC school where the junta armed forces have been stationed.
  • In North Okkalapa Township of Yangon Region, power was cut out to the houses without payment of electricity bills on Thursday. Reportedly, electricity staff were accompanied by the junta police.
  • In Mayangone Township, there was an explosion near Swesone traffic lights in Bayintnaung Ward (2) on Thursday morning. Reportedly, a junta soldier was injured.
  • In Tamway Township, the junta armed forces came to Malanwe street in Myitta Nyunt Ward at about 9:00 pm Wednesday. According to a witness, they made 2 gunshots and arrested 2 young people.
  • In Pha-Kant of Kachin State with internet blackout, local people marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday, chanting slogans in support of KIA, PDF and NUG.
  • In Taninthayi Township of Taninthayi Region, Ko Min Min Thu, a young member of the NLD in Ashay Mawdone village, was arrested by the junta army led by Captain Min Swe Oo on Monday night. According to local residents, he died during interrogation the following day.
  • In Longlone Township, students marched on Thursday and showed their lack of trust in the military junta that released prisoners and arrested them again.
  • In Mandalay, a combined rally expressed their desire against the military dictatorship on Thursday morning.
  • On Thursday morning, Maha Aungmye rally marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Mandalay, there were explosions at 8 locations on Wednesday evening, including the junta security gate at the regional parliament.
  • On Thursday morning, a village administrator, allegedly an informer to the junta in Mandalay, was shot dead.
  • On Wednesday midnight, there was a bomb explosion at Mandalay Regional NLD Office, which had been sealed off by the military junta.
  • In Bogalay of Ayeyarwaddy Region, Chit San Mg, leather bag repairer and allegedly a Pyusawti member, was shot dead by an unknown man in Myoma market.
  • According to a member of Pathein Western PDF, they opened fire at a traffic police booth at Myakyuntha traffic lights on Mahabandula road. Reportedly, a policeman died on the spot and another one was injured.
  • In Magwe, there were bomb explosions at an electricity engineering office and the immigration office at about 2:00 pm Tuesday.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Shan North, 48 military trucks left Lashio for Theinni to strengthen weapons of the junta armed forces in the area. They were faced with a guerrilla attack by the MNDAA. Reportedly, 2 trucks were damaged and some junta soldiers died.
  • In Kyaikto Township of Mon State, there was a clash between the junta army and KNLA near Moepaung village on Wednesday morning. Reportedly, 8 junta soldiers died and 5 others were injured.

Summary on 28th October

  • At the time of isolation in international community, the military junta have been preparing to enhance economic cooperation with Russia. Russia itself has been faced with economic sanctions by the international community. Therefore, people wonder if the military junta will meet their expectations.
  • In Sagaing Region, local PDFs are getting better at warfare. As for the junta armed forces, they have had a great loss there. They even have to use fighter jets and helicopters to attack PDF members only with Tumi and hand-made guns.
  • As for Sagaing, Mandalay and Yangon, they had public protests and armed revolution in great momentum. In Ayeyarwaddy, Magwe, Bago and Mon, there were frequent activities of armed revolution and junta-pillar clearance operations.
  • As for the military junta with a great loss in every sector, they have been conducting more oppression on the public and threatening acts like collecting electricity bills by force, power blackouts and robberies.
