The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • According to the NUG on Tuesday, the Acting President was present at the event on the completion of the PDF Officers’ Training in a liberated area. Reportedly, the trainees were PDF members from all over the country.
  • On the 148th Karenni National Day on Wednesday, 8 organizations including the NUG sent congratulatory statements.
  • In Washington D.C Area of the United States, there was a meeting between Union Ministers of the NUG and Myanmar community. According to organizers, they would donate to the NUG the funds they had earned from the event.
  • The PDF Headquarters under the Ministry of Defence- NUG announced that regular inspections would be made on No. (8) Mawlamyein-Dawei Road.
  • In Chin State, the People’s Police Force completed a state-level basic interrogation training on Monday. Reportedly, the Union Minister of Home Affairs and Immigration- NUG sent a statement.
  • According to the Ministry of Defence- NUG, a combined force of PDFs attacked 4 Pyusawti members from Hsin-In Village in Shwebo Township of Sagaing Region at about 3:00 pm Tuesday. Reportedly, all of the junta members died.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Yinmabin Township of Sagaing Region, a local rally of Shwe Nwe Thwe led a march against the military dictatorship on Wednesday.
  • In Kani Township, a combined rally of 4 villages, in cooperation with the local strike committee, conducted a prayer event against the military dictatorship on Wednesday morning.
  • On Wednesday, a combined rally of Kalay General Strike Committee, Salingyi-Yinmabin Strike Committee and Letbadaung Strike Committee carried out a public movement.
  • In Kalay Township, a mortar round shot by the junta army fell and exploded in Thazi Village on Tuesday morning. Reportedly, a local man in his twenties lost his life as he was hit by shrapnel.
  • On Wednesday morning, a rally of Yinmabin North marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Monywa Township, there was a bomb attack via drone on the weapon warehouse of the junta army on the evening of 18 June. Reportedly, there were a large number of casualties among junta soldiers including officers.
  • In Kantbalu Township, up to 11 people have been bitten by poisonous snakes in June.
  • In Yangon Region, there were bomb explosions in Insein Township, Hlaing Thayar Township, North Dagon Myothit Township and North Dagon Township on Tuesday night.
  • In Pakkoku Township and Myaing Township of Magwe Region, there were mine attacks and bomb attacks via drone on the junta armed forces, police station and Pyusawti convoy at 1:30 pm Monday.
  • In Mandalay, there was a grenade attack on No. (4) Police Station under the military junta on Monday night.
  • In Longlone and Kanbauk Area of Taninthayi Region, the junta army arrested 3 civilians on the same day for no apparent reason.
  • In Taninthayi Township, the junta army fired 120mm grenades at Yaypaw Village on Monday. Reportedly, a local woman aged about 50 was injured.
  • In Yay Township of Mon State, Aunglan Township of Magwe Region and Muse Township of Shan State, a member of the Pyusawti, a member of a militia and a junta administrator from Union Solidarity and Development Party were shot dead.
  • In Kyaikto Township of Mon State, a combination of revolutionary forces carried out an attack with 10 bombs via drone on Kinpunchaung Police Station.
  • In New Dehli of India, Myanmar refugees expressed their desire in front of the UNHCR Office on Tuesday morning.
  • On World Refugee Day, Korean people, the members of LOCOA, expressed their desire that they stand with Myanmar people in hardships due to the military dictatorship.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • According to Wa Channel on Wednesday, the United Wa State Army would not withdraw their 5 camps as per the request of Thailand.
  • In Kyar-In Seikgyi Township of Kayin State, the junta army fired shells into Dagundine Village on Monday evening. Reportedly, 3 people got injured.
  • In Hpasaung Township of Karenni State, a combination of Karenni forces and the PDFs conducted bomb attacks via drone on the junta armed forces at about 3:00 pm Tuesday. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers died.
  • At 11:30 am Tuesday, the junta army wildly fired heavy artillery on the places where a combined force of the KNLA, SOF and PDF might be inspecting the cars on No. (8) Mawlamyein-Yay-Dawei Road.

The Military Council

  • On Tuesday, the junta propaganda leader General Zaw Min Tun claimed that there was no need to worry about the news of the plan of the US to place the two junta banks; MFTB and MICB on the list of economic sanctions since there would be no loss.
  • On Tuesday, the junta Ministry of Planning and Finance announced that it would continue to provide services for paying for trade via foreign currency although the news came out about the sanctions of the US on the two junta banks.
  • Near Kyaukphyu Township in Rakhine State, the junta navy rescued a cargo vessel floating in Myanmar’s water due to engine failure at about 4:00 pm Sunday.
  • The junta propaganda announced that some members of Tontay Township Urban Guerrilla got involved in the robbery at Myat Maung Gold and Jewelry in North Okkalapa Township of Yangon Region on Sunday evening.
  • After the case in which former Colonel Ye Khine from Yangon Aerodrome Company Limited was assassinated, former soldiers and staff members at the company will be armed. Reportedly, the company has been supplying management at Yangon International Airport.

Summary on 22 June

  • Despite the news that the US would place sanctions on the two junta banks, the military junta told the public not to worry. In reality, there might be impacts on Myanmar’s economy, along with tighter restrictions on the flow of the dollar.
  • In Sagaing Region, Kayin State and Karenni State, there have been battles on a daily basis. The same is true for the southern part of the country- Yay, Dawei and Taninthayi
