The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • At 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, there was a second meeting between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration and the Karenni State Consultative Council.
  • The NUG Ministry of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Risks Management announced that it had spent 223.64 million MMK on humanitarian aid in July.
  • According to the right of self-defence, the public has been taking part in a People’s Defensive War. Reportedly, 49 members of the junta armed forces died and 19 others got injured on Wednesday.
  • According to CDM Captain Nyi Thu Ta, they completed the campaign for Two Sniper Guns for the Shan South Unit (1008) under the NUG Ministry of Defence.

Revolutionary Activities

  • At about 8:30 am on Thursday, U Thaung Kyein, an officer of the Cooperative Department, was shot by two unknown motorcyclists in his office.
  • In Aungmye Thazan Township in Mandalay Region, there was a grenade attack on the junta administration office in Pale Ngwe Yaung Ward on Wednesday night.
  • In Natoegyi Township, a military car was attacked with mines by s local PDF at about 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers died.
  • In Kantbalu Township in Sagaing Region, the junta army raided Kyisu Village and murdered over 70 people. Reportedly, no less than 20 burnt bodies were found.
  • On Thursday, a combined rally of villagers from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched for the end of the military dictatorship.
  • In Chaung-U Township, junta armed forces were attacked with mines three times on Tuesday. Reportedly, no less than 14 junta soldiers died and many others were injured.
  • Daw Thet Wai Kyaw, a regional MP for Kalay Township, auctioned her diamond ring and locket. She then donated the fund to the IDPs and PDFs.
  • on their 497th day of protest, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • To strengthen their weapons, the Ranger Kalay Defend Force (RKDF) conducted a lucky draw for land on Thursday to raise necessary funds.
  • In South Dagon Township in Yangon Region, Khin Mg Than, the hundred-household leader of Ward 22, beat and killed Ko Aung Myint Htwe for no apparent reason on the street at about 9:00 a.m. on 6 July.
  • In front of No. (2) High School in Tamway Township, youths conducted a movement against the junta's education on Thursday.
  • In Thandaung Township in Kayin State, there were battles from 15 to 18 July. Reportedly, 25 junta soldiers, including 4 officers, died.
  • Starting on 19 July, there have been mobile phone signal black-outs in Gantgaw, Tilin, Saw and Kyauktu townships. Reportedly, the junta armed forces have been conducting air strikes there and targeting villages without sending in ground forces.
  • In Dawei Township and Pulaw Township in Tanintharyi Region, the junta armed forces were attacked with mines. Reportedly, 29 junta soldiers died and many others were injured.
  • In Boatpyin Township, six local people were beaten and arrested in Tawwinemaw Village due to false information given by a couple.
  • On Wednesday, some detained teachers of K4U were on trial at the junta court inside of Myeik Prison. Reportedly, they had been harshly beaten during interrogation.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • According to CDF Kanpetlet, Pyay San Naung, a policeman on duty at a local police station, joined them on 23 June, together with weapons. Reportedly, he was rewarded with 60 lakh MMK and sent to a liberated area.
  • In the Halu Wawlay Area of Kayin State, Kyaw Naing Soe, a second sergeant from the junta army, joined the Karen National Union (KNU) on Wednesday. Reportedly, he had been a machine gunner. According to Salween Press, eight soldiers had left the junta army and he could not find his comrades in the forest.
  • On Thursday, the Kawthoolei Army (KTLA) announced that they would join hands with the EAOs against the junta armed forces to uproot the military dictatorship.
  • On Wednesday, the KNU and KNLA announced that they did not recognize the Kawthoolei Army.
  • The CNO/CNDF announced on Wednesday that they would take action against Myanmar people smuggling illegal drugs into Mizoram State in India.
  • According to a spokesperson of the SSPP/SSA, they will not withdraw from their three camps in Maishu Township in Shan State.
  • In Maungdaw Township in Rakhine State, there were two battles between the junta army and Arakan Army (AA) on Monday.
  • In Mobye on the border of Shan South and Karenni State, there were battles for two days between the junta armed forces and a local PDF. Reportedly, no less than three junta soldiers died.

The Military Council

  • According to the junta Ministry of Health on Wednesday night, 16 people tested positive for COVID-19 in the country.
  • Dr. Zaw Myint Mg, former Chief Minister of Mandalay Region, was sentenced to another three years in prison.
  • At 3:00 pm on Thursday, there was the opening ceremony of the 2022 football tournament for states and regions in Naypyitaw. Reportedly, it was jointly organized by the junta Ministry of Youth/ Sports and Myanmar Football Federation.
  • According to the junta media, the Chief of Union Justice joined an online event of the China-ASEAN Forum on Judiciary Affairs to make cooperation between them easier and to promote an exchanges of judiciary experience.
  • The second junta leader Soe Win handed over the victory flag to the sports team that will take part in the 20th ASEAN University Sports Competition.
  • In Kalaw in Shan south, there was an argument between two teams in the junta township football tournament. Reportedly, the junta police had to fire their guns to disperse the crowd.

Summary on 22 July

  • ·To show that the country is peaceful, the military junta has been conducting sports events from village and ward level to ministry level and forcing people to take part. They have been doing this to distract the public from the revolution.
  • Despite oppression by the junta armed forces, anti-junta protests and defensive battles are gaining momentum all over the country.
  • In upcountry areas like Sagaing and Magwe, the junta armed forces have been burning villages and killing civilians. They have also been conducting air strikes on areas where they are not fighting on the ground. Consequently, thousands of local residents have had to run away.
