The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • In honor of the 78th birthday of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, the Acting President of the NUG urged the people to emulate her spirit and courage.
  • The Military Headquarters under the Ministry of Defence- NUG announced on Tuesday that their forces had attacked and burnt down the junta police station in Tapway Village of Saytoattaya Township in Magwe Region. They had also caught two Pyusawti members as prisoners of war.
  • Minister of Economics and Commerce- NUG attended Competition Policy: Frontiers in competition and Regulation Conference held in the UK on 15 and 16 June.
  • At 10:00 am Monday, there was a meeting between the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration- NUG and Township People’s Administration Teams from Sagaing Region, Magwe Region and Mandalay Region.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Western Yinmabin of Sagaing Region, a rally of Youth Strength led an anti-junta march on Tuesday.
  • In Kani Township, students and teachers protested against the military dictatorship at a school on Tuesday.
  • In Kani Township, there was a battle at about 7:00 am Monday. Reportedly, three policemen died and a gun was confiscated.
  • In Chaung-U Township, a combined rally of local administrations, security forces and Amyint Strike marched against the military dictatorship on the birthday of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.
  • In Minkin Township, a combined rally of the PDFs and local people conducted a flower strike in commemoration of the birthday of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.
  • In Shwebo, there was a grenade attack at the old palace site, where the junta army had been stationed, at about 10:00 am Monday. Reportedly, 8 junta soldiers died.
  • In Shwebo Township, there was an attack by a sniper at the secret camp of the junta army between Kinbya Village and Obo Village at about 12:00 pm Sunday. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died.
  • In Kani, local PDFs attacked 17 junta policemen on patrol in Ward (3) at about 7:00 am Monday. Reportedly, 3 junta members died.
  • Former Colonel Ye Khine, the Chief Executive Officer of Yangon Airport Security and the pupil of the second leader Soe Win, had been away from home in case of an assassination. He then came back to his home in Zay Gabar Compound. Reportedly, he was shot dead by Urban Owls at about 7:00 pm Monday.
  • In Pabedan Township of Yangon Region, 13 staff members of Thamadi Gold and Jewelry were arrested for wearing flowers on the birthday of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. Reportedly, they were released at night.
  • In Myingyan Township of Mandalay Region, there was an attack on a junta vessel at Lingyi Jetty at about 5:00 pm Sunday. Reportedly, no less than 10 junta soldiers might have died in the incident.
  • In Myaing of Magwe Region, there were bomb attacks via drone on the junta stations in town on Monday afternoon.
  • On Monday, the Myaing Township Strike marched against the military dictatorship on the birthday of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, a large number of the junta armed forces arrested the father of Ko Min Lwin Oo, a local strike committee member, in Pyin Tein Village on Monday.
  • On behalf of Japan-Myanmar Friendship Association, the focal person of Rural Land donated rice, oil and tarpaulin to the displaced people in Karenni State.
  • According to Assistance Association for Political Prisoners, 3,672 people have lost their lives until 19 June due to the violent activities of the junta armed forces after the military coup.
  • The Joint Chair of ASEAN Parliamentarians for Human Rights: APHR stated that the decision of Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister to conduct a free meeting with Myanmar’s military junta betrayed the Myanmar people and it was against the unity of the ASEAN.
  • According to Thai PBS, the US will place economic sanctions on the Myanmar junta’s Foreign Trade Bank and the Investment and Commerce Bank.
  • On World Refugee Day, the people from Indonesia- a member of LOCOA protested against Myanmar’s military dictatorship in front of the ASEAN Office.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In the areas under Karen National Union in Kayin State, there were 71 battles from 1 to 15 June. According to Mutraw Newsletter, 45 junta soldiers died and 13 others got injured.
  • In a meeting of the Thai-Myanmar Township Border Committee at the 1G1 Hotel in Tachileik on Monday, Thai authorities called on Myanmar’s responsible personnel to withdraw the 5 camps of the United Wa State Army stationed along the border.
  • In Mobye of Shan South, mortars shot by the junta army hit the public’s houses where the junta soldiers had been stationed, on the morning of 16 June. According to the KNDF-UAV, some of the junta members were injured.
  • On the 148th anniversary of Karenni National Day which would fall on 21 June, Karenni National Progressive Party sent a statement calling on Karenni nationalities and the public to unitedly fight against the military dictatorship to build a Karenni State will full self-determination in a true federal democratic union.
  • In Mese of Kayar State, an alliance of 4Ks have been fighting the junta army.
  • In Hpasaung Township of Karenni or Kayah State, there has been military tension, along with the fighting between a troop of about 120 junta soldiers and the revolutionary forces starting on 17 June.
  • In Mindat of Chin State, local CDFs conducted constant attacks on the junta armed forces on 11 and 13 June.
  • In Chin State, Chin Defence Forces have been prohibiting the two troops of junta soldiers marching towards Thanglang Township, the Headquarters of the Chin National Front/ Chin National Army. Consequently, the junta armed forces still have been trapped in Hakha Township.
  • In Kyaikto Township of Mon State, there was a bomb attack via drone on the junta army stationing in Kinpumchaung Camp on Monday evening. According to Pa-O PDF- KD, there were many casualties among junta soldiers.
  • On Monday, the Kachin Independence Organization provided the National League for Democracy with the records of when the birthday of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi was celebrated in Lai Za of Kachin State 12 years ago.

The Military Council

  • The junta Union Election Commission announced that they had inspected the activities of the Kokant Democracy and Unity Party and the Shan State Kokant Democratic Party in accordance with the Political Parties Registration Law and By-Law.
  • On Monday, the UEC inspected the junta proxy Union Solidarity and Development Party, approved under the Political Parties Registration Law and By-Law.
  • According to the junta Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there was a free meeting on Myanmar’s affairs in Pattaya in Thailand on Monday.
  • The junta Minister of Cooperatives and Rural Development said that it was necessary for Myanmar’s Seeds, Fertilizer and Agricultural Supplies Association to sell chemical fertilizers and other supplies with reasonable prices for the rainy paddy project, which would be implemented under the national budget to promote the country’s economy.
  • According to the junta Ministry of Economics and Commerce, the export of various beans earned over 260 million USD in the two months of the current fiscal year.
  • To stabilize the gold price, Mandalay Gold Enterprise Association will reportedly sell 730 blocks of gold.
  • The military junta announced that they had arrested those involved in the robbery at Myat Maung Gold and Jewelry in North Okkalapa Township of Yangon Region within 5 hours after the incident on the evening of Sunday.
  • In Ayeyarwady Region, Sergeant Thant Cin from the junta army based in Yekyi died in an accident on Sunday evening while he was cleaning his gun.

Summary on 21 June

  • The US Government has been preparing to place economic sanctions on the two banks under the military junta. Consequently, it might make the junta’s financial flows harder.
  • As expected, the meeting organized by Thai Government just ended silently without any outcome.
