The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • From 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, there was a meeting between the Union Minister of Foreign Affairs-NUG, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs-NUG, Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and the Myanmar community at St. James Episcopal Church in New York, United States of America.
  • In London there was an event themed ‘Unity of the Blood towards Victory’ on Saturday. Reportedly, present on the occasion was the Union Minister of Economics and Commerce-NUG.
  • On the 75th Karen National Day on Saturday, the NUG sent a statement with acknowledgement and respect for the sacrifices and effort of the Karen ethnic people.
  • On the 76th anniversary of the Panglong Agreement on Sunday, Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) called on the revolution forces to strive towards a nation of federal democracy, along with undivided unity and great appreciation for the innovation of the young generation.
  • On the 76th Union Day, the National League for Democracy-NLD sent a statement vowing that they have been making an effort together with all the forces with the common goal throughout the Spring Revolution and they have already been determined to join hands with the public to build the future nation after the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • In the statement to the 76th anniversary of Panglong Agreement, the Interim Chin National Consultative Council-ICNCC claimed that they would join hands with all the other ethnics to build a nation of federal democracy.
  • According to Special Operation Force in the Southern Military Region, trainers from the US Marine Force and the ones from the KNU have been providing the military training up to Batch (4).
  • Regarding the financial scandal of Free Online Education Institution Myanmar, Ministry of Education-NUG announced that they would take action against founder Ko Khant Thu and all of those who destroyed the learning process, in accordance with the transformational justice.
  • On Saturday, the sale of 10,000 apartments from the Spring Bliss Project got started. According to the End of Dictatorship-EOD, they managed to sell up to 6,500 apartments within 24 hours.
  • In Sagaing Region, Local Public’s Administrative Team provided humanitarian assistance to the fire victims from 6 villages which have been burnt by the junta armed forces.

Revolution Activities

  • In Yangon Region, Mingaladone Township Basic Education Students’ Union conducted an anti-junta movement on Sunday, writing the text - ‘Except for the bond, there is nothing else to lose’.
  • In Sagaing Region, there was an attack with variety mines on a convoy of 6 military trucks on the Monywa-ChaungU Road Section at 4:30 am Sunday.
  • On Sunday, a combined rally of villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched for the end of the military dictatorship.
  • In Yinmabin Township, a rally of Shwe Yay Kyi with the Flag of Victory marched for the end of the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • On Sunday, a rally of Yinmabin North marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • In Kani Township, local Spring Revolution Force conducted an event in memory of Comrade Zin Min Aung who had lost his life a month ago. They also carried out an anti-junta protest.
  • In Yinmabin Township, Ahman Thit Rally, Salingyi Border Task Force and local public’s administrative teams provided fire victims with rice and edible oil.
  • In Kalay, a young man aged 19 from Taung Zalat Ward lost his life at about 6:00 pm Thursday due to the wild gunfire of the junta army.
  • In Indaw Township, the junta army arrested a charcoal maker from Kanni Village on Wednesday, accusing him of having contact with the PDFs.
  • In Kani Township, the junta armed forces set fire to 3 local villages on Wednesday and Thursday. Reportedly, more than 130 houses were burnt to ashes.
  • Kalay District PDF Regiment (7) called for the participation in the 3000-bullet challenge to drive away the junta army.
  • In Pakkoku Township of Magwe Region, Basic Education Students’ Union and Local General Strike Committee marched on Sunday for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • In Magwe, a junta traffic policeman was shot dead in Pyidawtha Ward on Friday evening.
  • In Taninthayi Region, the people from Pulaw IDP Camp expressed their objection to the junta’s election on Sunday.
  • In Kanbauk Area of Yebyu Township, the junta armed forces arrested 5 local women on Saturday morning.
  • In Naungcho Township of Shan North, there was a heavy battle between the junta army and Mandalay PDF on Friday. Reportedly, 25 junta soldiers died. As for the PDF, they lost 2 members.
  • In Beelin Township of Mon State, the junta army fired mortars into the monastery of Migyaung-I Village at 8:30 pm Saturday. According to local people, a monk and two novices were injured in the incident.
  • In Pekone Township on the border of Shan and Karenni, the junta army dropped 500-pound bombs via their fighter jet on Medawgugone on Saturday night.
  • In Israel, Myanmar people expressed their disapproval of the junta’s election in front of Myanmar Embassy on Saturday.
  • On the 76th anniversary of the Panglong Agreement, Women Peace Network made a vow that they would join hands with all the Spring Revolution Forces and keep their effort to end all forms of dictatorship.
  • In the statement to the 76th Panglong Agreement Day, the 88 Generation Peace and Open Society claimed that they would keep fighting until the end of all forms of dictatorship and the emergence of a nation with federal democracy.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In their statement on the Union Day, Peace Process Steering Committee-PPST (LC) claimed that due to the military coup, the peace process and political discussions in momentum came to a halt.
  • On the Panglong Agreement Day, Karen National Union-KNU stated that it was necessary for the international community to avoid the past mistakes like handing over the nation’s power to a group of people and it was essential to shape the future of the country altogether via all-inclusive political talks in the transformational period beyond the military coup.
  • In their statement on the anniversary of Panglong Agreement, Kachin Political Interim Coordination Team claimed that Spring Revolution Forces have been trying with determination to implement the Panglong Agreement and Commitments, and such effort will be the resources for the emergence of a federal union with democracy, national equality and self-determination along with good political results.
  • In Kawkarait Township of Kayin State, a combined force of KNLA and PDF attacked the junta army gate in Tadar-U Ward at about 5:30 am Saturday. Reportedly, 6 junta soldiers died and 3 guns were confiscated.
  • In the area under control of the Ta’ang National Liberation Army-TNLA, there was an event on completion of the PSLF- TNLA Police Investigation Training Batch (1) with 28 trainees on Saturday.
  • In the area under influence of the Kachin Independence Army-KIA Regiment (27), there have been constant battles against the junta armed forces in recent days.
  • The spokesperson of Chin National Front-CNF stated that there might be unlawful violence among the public due to the junta’s policy on carrying arms and weapon registration.

The Military Council

  • At the time of the state of emergency and the military rule throughout Myanmar, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing has joined a variety of events. He even attended the wedding reception of Captain Aung Myint Tun from the junta Navy and Ma Thiri Lwin at Grand Convention Centre on Saturday.
  • In the statement on the 76th Union Day, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing claimed that it was against democracy and it would be an act of dividing the unity if the attacks were made on those with diverse views as the enemy.
  • On Friday, U Chan Aye, the junta Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received the delegation led by Ms. Fang Hong, Deputy Director General of the Department on Asian Affairs under the Foreign Ministry of China, in Nay Pyi Taw.
  • On Sunday, the military junta in Yangon Region conducted the ceremony of the 76th Union Day at the People’s Square.
  • The junta Municipal Office in Nay Pyi Taw stated that they would rent the local hot springs for the long term from 10 to 20 years.

Summary on 12 February

  • Despite a great loss of the junta members on a daily basis, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing has been present on various events including the wedding reception. In other words, he has a “don’t-care” attitude towards others.
  • On the Union Day, the NUG and ethnic armed organizations called for the unity of all people in the fight against the military dictatorship until they gain victory.
