The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • At 10:00 am on Sunday, there was a meeting between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration and teams from the special administrative regions.
  • According to the Kalay Township People’s Police, they caught a junta army sergeant and some junta members paying for sex at a massage parlour with money taken from the public.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Yinmabin in Sagaing Region, there was a rally against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • In Kantbalu Township, PDFs attacked the junta army stationing in thew area of Koetaungboe on Monday morning. Reportedly, a PDF member lost their life and three others were injured.
  • In Myaung Township, the junta army shot mortars and set fire to Phwasaw Village on Sunday morning. Consequently, local people had to run away.
  • In Kawlin Township, the junta armed forces raided local villages for three consecutive days. Reportedly, 69 houses from two villages were burnt to ashes.
  • In Wetlet Township, junta soldiers have been pretending to be PDF members and have been demanding money from the public on the Shwebo-Mandalay Road.
  • In Salingyi Township, there was a mine attack on the junta army on their way back from burning villages.
  • In Dibeyin East, over 1,600 houses from 18 villages were set on fire and more than 20,000 people were made homeless from 2 to 11 December.
  • In East Dagon Myothit Township in Yangon Region, there was a bomb explosion on the junta immigration office on Monday morning. Reportedly, there were casualties at the incident.
  • In Yangon Region, those who have not paid their electricity bills have been summoned to their respective township electricity departments and they have been put under pressure to pay their bills.
  • In Johor in Malaysia, the movie ‘The Road Not Taken’ was shown as the last international show. In addition, there was also a protest against the junta’s election.
  • In Myaing Township in Magwe Region, local people marched against the military dictatorship on Monday morning, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • In Thabaitgyin Township in Mandalay Region, PDFs took the timber and bamboo rafts of junta informers.
  • In Mawlamyeingyun Township in Ayeyarwady Region, the junta army arrested two men from Salaunggya Village on 7 December, accusing them of having dealings with PDFs.
  • In Hinthada, the junta army arrested and killed a former soldier who had collected home-made mines. They then sent his dead body to the family.
  • According to the Southern Monitor in early December, 307 people lost their lives and 115 others have been injured in Tanintharyi Region since the military coup.
  • In Dawei Township, local PDFs fired 40mm grenades at a junta army camp near the local technological university at about 3:30 pm on Sunday.
  • In Namsam Township in Shan North, the junta army has been invading the TNLA controlled area using air strikes and ground troops. Reportedly, 15,000 people have had to run away.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Namsam Township in Shan North, there has been heavy fighting between the junta army and the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA). Reportedly, junta soldiers used 500-pound bombs in their air strikes on Sunday night.

The Military Council

  • According to the junta Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Myanmar movie- ‘Upardon or too much attachment’ was shown at the 15th Noida Global Film Festival in India from 8 to 10 December.
  • The junta Chief Minister of Yangon Region talked about planting more oil crops and extracting more oil from them to improve local self-sufficiency.
  • 7,749 government employees have had to train every day for a special march to salute the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing on the 75th Independence Day on 4 January 2023.
  • On Sunday, Dr. Linn Htut, the former Chief Minister of Shan State who has been imprisoned for 20 years, was transferred from Taunglaylone Prison.
