The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • At the European Parliament on Thursday and Friday, Minister U Aung Myo Min made a talk themed ‘The situation of Myanmar after the military coup in February 2021’ and met with many international organizations. 
  • On the Human Rights Day, Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) called on the international community to take effective action against supporters of the military junta to stop inhumane murders. 
  • The NUG expressed their objection to any violence with hatred against the civilians throughout the country including minorities. 
  • On Wednesday, there was an online meeting between Ministry of Labour-NUG and Committee on Labour Affairs under the Thai Parliament. Reportedly, they discussed the affairs of Myanmar migrant workers. 
  • While there were events to mark International Human Rights Day all over the world, it is disheartening that Myanmar people are faced with the lack of all human rights and the inhumane activities of the military junta. 

Revolution Activities 

  • In Dibeyin Township of Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces set fire to 8 local villages on the same day. 
  • On International Human Rights Day, a rally of Monywa-Amyint Road marched against the junta’s death sentence for 7 students of Dagon University, holding signs - ‘Can’t punish faith with death’. 
  • In Wetlet, Burmese Students’ Union marched against the junta’s death sentence for 7 Dagon University students who had peacefully protested against the military dictatorship. 
  • In Dibeyin Township, local people marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Saturday. 
  • On Saturday morning, the junta armed forces set fire to Myopaw Village in Butalin Township and Paukpin Kway Village in Htigyaint Township. 
  • In Myaung Township, PDFs attacked the junta army which had burnt Shwe Bone Tha Village. Reportedly, there were casualties among junta soldiers. 
  • In Yinmabin North, a combined rally of local villages marched for the end of the military dictatorship on Saturday. 
  • In Kani Township, Spring Revolution Force and local people conducted a 12-day campaign in commemoration of International Human Rights Day. Reportedly, they managed to provide anti-worm tablets to over 5,000 children. 
  • In Paungte Township of Bago Region, PDF caught a junta soldier alive together with weapons on Friday. 
  • According to political prisoners, the military junta has sentenced 138 political prisoners to death throughout the country. 
  • In Yangon, FOF led a sticker campaign against the junta’s death sentence for 7 students of Dagon University and other innocent civilians. 
  • In Myaing Township of Magwe Region, a military convoy was attacked with mines for two consecutive days. Reportedly, a junta captain died and 3 soldiers were injured. 
  • In Chauk Township, youth protested against the military junta violating human rights. 
  • On International Human Rights Day, Mandalay youth conducted an anti-junta movement for the silence of human rights in Myanmar. 
  • Even amidst local battles in Dimawso Township of Karenni State, Rural Land led an event with 300 people on International Human Rights Day. 
  • In Hpakant Township of Kachin State, a combined rally of gems miners marched for the end of the military dictatorship on Saturday. 
  • In Ayeyarwaddy Region, local PDF managed to produce projectiles which would be useful for the targets of military attacks. 

Ethnic Armed Organizations 

  • In Namsam Township of Shan North, the battle continued between the junta army and Ta’ang National Liberation Army-TNLA on Saturday morning. Consequently, local people had to run away. 
  • In Kawthoolei Area under Karen National Union-KNU, Pha-Ang District Women Union had a public talk on the 16-day campaign for the elimination of violence against women. 

The Military Council 

  • According to prison sources, the amount of parcel delivery was limited to Dr. Zaw Myint Mg, Mandalay Regional Chief Minister in detention at Obo Prison. 
  • In Tamu of Sagaing Region, the junta army arrested 9 local business people and made investigations for legal action against them. 
  • Min Aung Hlaing said that corruption was more than bribery and it included the abuse of state-owned property, the use of public property as one’s own, the persuasion by force with power, the use of policies for the benefit of one’s family and relatives, and the adoption of policies for the interest of associates. 
  • According to Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation, digital meters with AMI System were installed in 5 townships of Yangon Region. 

Summary on 10 December 

  • The family members of the military junta led by Min Aung Hlaing have grasped the business privileges of the army and ministries. On the other hand, the junta leader bare-facedly told government employees not to commit corruption. 
  • Throughout the country, 138 political prisoners have been sentenced to death. Besides, there have been brutal treatment on purpose in prison.
