Six Myanmar junta soldiers killed in Dawei attack

Six junta soldiers died when they were attacked by people’s defence forces (PDFs) between Maung Mae Shaung and Zar villages in Tanintharyi’s Dawei Township at around 4:00 p.m. on 23 November.

PDF fighters attacked 30 junta soldiers with a landmine and two 60mm mortar rounds and killed six of them, according to a representative of the Dawei Guerrilla Revolutionary Force (DGRF), one of the PDFs involved in the attack.

He said: “After the attack we were able to safely retreat without suffering any casualties. The Military Council troops randomly fired their guns at nearby villages.”

According to the DGRF six junta soldiers died and at least 12 others were injured. The dead bodies and the injured were taken to Dawei Hospital by ambulance.
