Sagaing landmine attack kills junta troops

A combined force of local guerilla groups killed about 15 junta troops in a landmine attack near Htone Gyi Village 15 miles south of Sagaing’s Minkin Township, at around 2pm on 3rd April, according to the KLG Peoples Defence Force (PDF) group.

" Near Htone Gyi Village we were able to detonate three landmines near to four military trucks carrying about 80 troops that were returning from providing food supplies to a telecommunications base in Lapo Village. After detonating the landmines we fired heavy weapons and small arms. We killed more than 15 junta troops and we only suffered minor injuries", said a KLG PDF representative.

According to the KLG PDF representative the operation was carried out by a joint force of the Minkin Battalion (2) and the Shwe Thamin Mote Soe group. Some of their fighters had been injured in the attack, but none of their lives were in danger.

He also said that after the attack junta troops entered Htone Gyi Village and set fire to five households at around 3 pm on 3 April.
