Myanmar’s NUG Human Rights Minister visiting Australia

The National Unity Government (NUG) has just announced that their Human Rights Minister Aung Myo Min will be visiting Australia from 8 May until 4 June during which time he will engage in a range of activities aimed at strengthening the relationship between the two countries and updating the human rights issues in Myanmar.

The Minister's itinerary includes meetings with senior government officials, politicians, and scholars to discuss issues of the Myanmar military coup and violation of human rights and international crimes committed by the junta’s armed forces, as well as share the NUG’s view and strategies to restore democracy and human rights in Myanmar.

In addition, the Minister will deliver public lectures at the Australian National University, Melbourne, and Sydney universities, sharing insights on human rights issues in Myanmar and engaging with students, scholars, and faculties.

The NUG is inviting media representatives to cover the Minister's visit and attend events where the Minister will be speaking.

The NUG says that it is looking forward to the Minister's visit and the opportunity to further enhance the strong and enduring relationship between the two nations and support more to restore democracy and human rights in Myanmar.
