South Korea-based Myanmar support groups and the National Unity Government (NUG) Representative Office reportedly discussed doing more to help with Spring Revolution fundraising.

The NUG office and NGOs met in Incheon City. The statement issued by the NUG Representative Office says that they agreed to support the NUG, to build a Federal Democratic Union by ending the military dictatorship resolutely, and giving financial support to the NUG.

At this meeting, the NUG Foreign Minister Zin Mar Aung delivered an address to the participants online.

Zin Mar Aung said, “Cooperation, coordination, understanding and criticism among the different and diverse forces are valuable and essential for our revolution which is fighting against our common enemy, the military dictators and their military dictatorship with the aim to rid out country of this dictatorship forever.”

The resolutions reportedly passed at this meeting are to establish a monthly financial support fund for the NUG Representative Office by the revolutionary organizations, drafting a strategy for a revolution financial support fund, to organize an all-inclusive fundraising event led by the NUG Representative Office and to establish a network with all organizations.

The statement issued by the NUG office further says that the participants at this meeting discussed the current political situation, advantages, disadvantages and criticisms of the revolution movements, and suggestions and proposals for enhancing transitional work.

The Anti-coup Committee (Korea) organized a ‘One Day Challenge’ movement for raising funds and then they have been giving the Korean Won equivalent of US$100,000 monthly to the NUG and in total they have given US$1.5 million up until 23 February this year.
