Female PDF fighter assassinate ward administrator in Magwe Region

Women fighters from the Earthquake People's Defense Force (PDF) shot and killed a Junta-appointed ward administrator in Magwe Region’s Pakokku Township, on 22 November.

U Myint Thein, the No. 14 Ward ward administrator and an alleged junta informant was reportedly shot three times in front of his home in Pakokku Township, at 7:30 am.

According to Earthquake People's Defense Force reports, the ward administrator was executed because he had instructed junta soldiers to arrest Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) staff and local residents suspected of having contact with PDFs, and had threatened local residents in various ways.

A resident of No. 14 Ward said: “Many victims were arrested because of him. He was a notorious informant who adored military council troops. He instructed them to arbitrarily arrest local residents.”

According to the Earthquake People's Defense Force, its fighters managed to retreat unharmed and return safely to their respective outposts after the shooting.

The group said that junta-appointed administrators in Pakokku Township have been repeatedly issued with warnings and told to resign. It said that it will continue executing administrators who do not resign
