The bodies of six people who were arrested on 6 December in Mandalay Region’s Natogyi Township, were found by the side of the road the next day.

The six victims were all from Minywa Village in Natogyi Township, four of them were NLD members.

They were arrested in their homes on the evening of 6 December.

A Minywa villager said: “At around 9:30 p.m., Military Council soldiers and members of the Pyu Saw Htee [military aligned militia] raided the victims' homes and took them away in vehicles. I don’t know where they were taken, but the next day the six victims' bodies were discovered between the villages of Minywa and Kukone.”

A representative of the Taungthar Township People Movement Committee said that the soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members came to Minywa Village in two vehicles and were guided by 40-year-old Daw Thida Yumon, a supporter of the military.

The Taungthar Township People Movement Committee named the six murdered people as: U Kyaw Saung, age 63; U Khin Maung Sein, age 63; U Min Zaw, age 42; and U Han Tin, age 42; who were all NLD members and Ko Soe Paing, age 37; and Maung Aung Ko Min, age 17.

Two employees of a tea shop owned by an NLD supporter were arrested and killed in Natogyi Township on 12 November. Locals quoted by local news media say that junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members regularly terrorise the inhabitants of Natogyi Township and commit atrocities against them.
