Burma's ruling junta opened the registration period for political parties planning to take part in this year's election by announcing the "Rights of Formation and Registration of Political Party" and "Rights of Continued Existence and Registration of Political Party" (No.2/2010). State radio and television announced that new and existing parties can register at the Election Commission office in the administrative capital of Naypyidaw.
