Six wards in low-lying areas of Lashio Township in Shan State were heavily flooded by water run-off from nearby mountains with up to three feet of water swamping homes on Sunday.

Hundreds of households were affected, according to reports by local media.
Residents said the mountain water flooding was the first ever witnessed in Lashio proper.
There were no reports of casualties.
Bus transportation from Lashio to Rangoon was suspended.
Over the past week, heavy flooding also has hit the southwestern Irrawaddy region, especially in Pathein, where 15 quarters were under water due to heavy rainfall.
At least 21,578 people from 4,666 households were affected in Pathein and Pyapon with 70,310 hectares of farmland in four areas of Ayeyawady region under weater, according to officials.
Over the past two weeks, heavy rainfall also flooded sections of Hpa-an Township in Kayin State and Bago region's Bago Township.
