At least seven helicopters left Moscow airbase this morning carrying relief material for Burmese cyclone victims.

Sources told Mizzima that the military choppers are carrying food and medicine. The copters left  at about 8  a.m Russian  Standard Time  and may reach Rangoon  this evening.

On May 6, Russian president Vladimir Putin offered aid to the Burmese regime.
