Myanmar and Israel’s military ties clarified

Deputy Minister for Defence Commodore Aung Thaw clarified a MoU on military cooperation in the defence sector and an agreement on the protection of secret information between Myanmar and Israel at the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw on Monday, the Global New Light of Myanmar reported on 23 November.
The MoU covers military training, the development of defence and security policies, legal matters in the defence sector, information sharing, humanitarian and relief operations, military education in economics, science and technology and military medical science, according to the deputy minister.
In addition, the deputy minister pointed out the benefits of signing the agreement on the protection of secret information between the two countries, including the promotion of defence and security cooperation, information sharing, the acquisition of technologies and the exchange of visits, the report said.
