Three armed ethnic groups removed from list of unlawful associations

According to an announcement signed by Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Ko Ko on 12 October, President U Thein Sein has removed the Karen National Union (KNU), the All Burma Students Democratic Front (ABSDF) and the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS)/Shan State Army-South (SSA-S) from the list of Unlawful Association, The Global New Light of Myanmar reported on 13 October.
In a related development, a delegation led by saw Mutu Say Po, chairman of the Karen National Union, arrived in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday to sign the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement. The agreement is scheduled to be signed on 15 October.
