NLD and government hold first meeting to discuss transfer of power

The first coordination meeting for systematic transfer of power of the Head of State and cabinet was held in the afternoon of 16 December at the Rule of Law and Law and Order parliament affairs committee office in the Parliament building complex in Nay Pyi Taw.
Government Information Minister Ye Htut said on his Facebook post that the meeting was chaired by National League for Democracy (NLD) party chairperson Aung San Suu Kyi and that work in relation to the joint transfer of duties of government were discussed.
The incumbent government has formed a facilitating committee for the transfer of Head of State duties and the NLD has formed a transition committee.
Minister Ye Htut wrote in a Facebook post that the government was also represented at the meeting by Maung Maung Ohn and Zaw Htay while Win Htein, Dr.Myo Aung and Dr. Aung Thu were present for the NLD.
