The Government of the Federal Republic of Germany granted 500 000 Euros support to the International Red Cross Society to finance the project “ICRC – Physical Rehabilitation in Myanmar 2015”, according to a statement on 18 November.
Project activities shall mostly focus on improvement of the living conditions of the affected populations in Kachin State, Rakhine State and Shan State.
The funds will be used to help disabled victims by providing prostheses, support to rehabilitation centres, physiotherapy and other assistive devices, first-aid workshops, sport activities, courses on security within mine-dominated areas and social reintegration programs.
By supporting such a broadly based project the German Government hopes to ensure security and a brighter future for both the victims and their families, the statement said.
