An explosion killed a 47-year-old Chinese national at a quarry mine in the Mawku forest reserve near Nanparmon Creek, Mawlaik Township, in Sagaing Region.
Luo Chan Giun of Kunming, China, was crushed to death by boulders when a mountain was dynamited to extract rocks on January 16.
Several people from Kalay Township were also injured in the explosion.
Mawlaik Myoma police are conducting an inquest investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
