The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a press release on November 30 which says the Minbu coalmine which left 8 dead in explosion has been closed and a case registered against the mine owner.
A gas explosion occurred in the coalmine owned by Han Htet Company on November 27 in the afternoon. Eight coalminers including a Chinese national were killed in the accident.
The case of criminal homicide was registered against company owner Chit Han and mining works in-charge Aung Kyaw Lin.
