Canada’s embassy to Myanmar recently released, via their Facebook page, news that you will now be able to have Canadian visas processed in Myanmar.
The centre is designed to assist in the application process and to return visa applications and passports in a sealed decision envelope. It will be the centre for all types of temporary visas from temporary stay to work permits.
Located on Shwe Dagon Pagoda Rd the centre will also process Australian visas.
Decision on the outcome of visas relies on the Citizenship and Immigration Canada officers, the office offers a place for people to submit applications and to provide advice in relation to the processing of visa applications.
The opening hours are from 8:30am to 3:30pm for application services, with passport collection ending at 4:30pm.
An official from the embassy said that they couldn’t comment on the opening as it hasn’t officially opened yet, the official opening will be held towards the end of this month.
Announcement of the office’s opening was via Visa Facilitations Services Global - commonly known as VFS Global – the company serves diplomatic missions by having work outsourced to their company to administer business processing, known as business outsource processing (BPO).
The Canadian embassy made a late entry into Myanmar, opening theembassy at Centre Point Towers in August 2014 and the embassy has apopular Facebook page amongst Myanmar locals.
