Correction:
This is to apologize to our readers about a mistake in a News story 'Dalai Lama donates for Burma's cyclone victims' that we published on June 9, 2008.
In the news story, we have refer to Dr. Tint Swe, an member of parliament of Burma's exiled government, National Coalition Government of Union of Burma (NCGUB), as saying, "This is an encouragement for the people of Burma," said Dr. Tint Swe, adding that the donation will be send to the All Burma Monks Alliance.
But it is learnt that Dr. Tint Swe have not said that the donation would be send through the All Burma Monks Alliance but said it would be send to Burmese Buddhist monks, who are helping Cyclone survivors in the Irrawaddy delta.
Moreover, the amount of Dalai Lama's earlier donation for Burmese cyclone survivors to the Red Cross was in US dollars not in Indian Rupees.
Thanking you,

New Delhi - Exiled Tibetan spiritual leader His Highness the Dalai Lama on Monday donated 500,000 Indian Rupees (USD 12,500) for relief and reconstruction work for victims of Cyclone Nargis in Burma.
The Nobel Peace Laureate, Dalai Lama, has come forward to support the people of Burma, who are now reeling under the impact of Nargis, said Dr. Tint Swe, a minister in Burma's government in exile– the National Coalition Government of Union of Burma (NCGUB), who received the donation.
"This is an encouragement for the people of Burma," said Dr. Tint Swe, adding that the donation will be send to Burmese Buddhist monks, who are helping Cyclone survivors in the Irrawaddy delta.
The donation by the Tibetan spiritual leader is the second since the killer cyclone struck Burma's coastal region of Irrawaddy and Rangoon division.
Immediately after the cyclone lashed Burma, Dalai Lama made a donation of 50,000 US dollars to help cyclone victims.
